I love Brava books. Love them. Long before I started writing for Brava, I was a Brava reader. I got hooked by Shanna McKenna–oh, she pulled me in her wicked, wicked web of wonder. (I’m still addicted to her stories, just so you know…)

I loved Brava stories. They’re sexy and suspenseful, wild and exciting. I can’t get enough of them.

But in addition to the suspenseful reads (which I always enjoy), I also found some hilarious Brava books that hooked me early on. Erin McCarthy wrote some books that were so funny, they made me cry. My husband always looks at me like I’m crazy when I do my cry/laugh routine as I read. ;)

But what about you? Do you have any favorite Bravas that you’d like to share with me? Maybe some oldies and always goodies? Perhaps we have some of the same favorites on our shelves!

Have a great Wednesday.

I’m Thankful (With Giveaway)

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011
Cynthia Eden Icon

Update: THANK YOU for all of the fantastic comments! I loved reading about the things that make you feel happy and thankful. I really appreciate you taking the time to share with me! I randomly picked a winner, and that commenter is…Lisa Dennin. Congrats, Lisa!

Happy Thanksgiving! Well, *almost* Thanksgiving for those celebrating in the U.S.

Tomorrow, thousands of turkeys will give their lives as we celebrate, and, oh, man, I am so eager for that good tasting food!

But I also really want to take a moment to just step back from the general craziness of the holidays (you know they can get crazy) and say just how thankful I am.

First…I’m thankful for my readers. Thank you for the emails and the kind words and the awesome support that you’ve given to me. Thank you for buying my books. For enjoying my characters–and for asking for more books (Thank you! Thank you!)

And, of course, I am super thankful to have my wonderful editor, Megan Records. She encourages me, she inspires me, and she always helps me to work and make my stories better. I’m sure lucky to have the Magnificient Megan! I love all the great folks at Kensington–I’m thankful for them all.

I’m thankful for the great reads I’ve had. Romance books have always given me an escape from everyday life. I’ve been turning to romance novels and their guaranteed happy endings for over twenty years…and they’ve never let me down. No matter what else is going on around me, I can count on a romance novel to make me feel good. Happy. Uplifted. I’m grateful to all the authors who’ve written such fabulous books–and who have hooked me on this great genre.

I’m thankful for my family. My husband and son know the drill at our house–if mommy is writing, STAY AWAY! :) Well, maybe not *away* but they do know to call my name 5-6 times in order to bring me out of my story and back to reality. I’m thankful for their patience.

I’m also thankful that my newest book, ANGEL OF DARKNESS, is releasing on 11/29. I loved writing this book, and I’m so happy that it’s about to be out! I sure hope readers enjoy it–and my take on dark angels.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! And if you’re doing the Black Friday mania, be safe & have fun!

I’d love to giveaway an ANGEL OF DARKNESS copy. Want to win? Then tell me something that you’re thankful to have this year.

Best wishes,

Cynthia Eden

Angels, Wings, and Things (Giveaway!)

Update: Thank you all so much for the great comments!! I randomly selected our winner, and that person is…Alaina. Congrats, Alaina! Please email me at cynthia@cynthiaeden.com to claim your prize.

I hope everyone has a fantastic Halloween!

Happy Halloween! Okay, I know it’s not actually Halloween yet, but I won’t be posting on Halloween (some other lucky Brava author will have that date), so I figured I’d better get my Halloween wishes out there while I had the chance.

This year, I’m thinking about being an Angel of Death for Halloween. Ahem, yes, I could be thinking about this costume choice because I’ve seriously got angels on my mind. My first Fallen angel book, ANGEL OF DARKNESS, releases in just over a month (on 11/29/11), and, I’ve just finished writing the fourth tale (that one is called Avenging Angel). So since I’ve been in a writing frenzy, angels have pretty much been on my mind 24/7.

When an angel falls, all hell breaks loose...

And a fallen angel costume would be so easy. All I’d need is a pair of wicked cool black wings. Because in my Fallen books, my death angels all have black wings. I’ll have to check my local party supply store to see if they happen to have those in stock. (Please do, please!)

But if they don’t have the wings, I might just have to come up with a last minute costume plan. Because, come on, we all know that the closer you get to Halloween, well, the slimmer the pickings are when it comes to costume choices.

I could always go as a serial killer, I suppose. Just wear my regular clothes. Cause, you know, I’d be a serial killer on the down low.

Or I could dress as a zombie. Rip up some clothes. Paint my face white, darken my eyes with black circles and get some blood dripping from my lips. I’ve been tuning in to watch lots of THE WALKING DEAD episodes, so I should be able to pull off a semi-passable zombie routine.

Hmmmm…do you have any good last minute costume ideas to share? Or do you have some fabulous costume that you’ve already got picked out (and you want to tell me about it so I can be super jealous!)? Then please share! I’ll pick one commenter to win ANGEL OF DARKNESS (early copy). I’ll leave the contest open until noon on Friday. Good luck!

Holidays Are On My Mind…

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011
Cynthia Eden Icon

Thank you so much for all of the holiday comments! I had a wonderful time reading them! I randomly picked a winner, and that person is…Temara. Congrats!!! And I hope you are all having a great weekend!

I’ll confess…the main holiday that is on my mind right now? Halloween. I love the thrills, the chills, the spooky movies, and of course, the candy. (Come on, I’m not the only parent out there who likes to dip into her kid’s candy bag, am I?)

But I’m not just thinking about Halloween. I’m also thinking about–Christmas. And not just because I have some friends who are over-achievers and have already completed their Christmas shopping. (Sob.) No, I’m thinking about Christmas because on next Tuesday (October 4!), the mass market version of THE NAUGHTY LIST will be available from Kensington Brava.

THE NAUGHTY LIST is filled with 3 sexy, holiday tales–perfect for those times when when you just want to sit down, relax, and sink into the holiday spirit.

So how about we do a giveaway? I’ll send a copy of THE NAUGHTY LIST to one commenter. Just tell me which holiday you are looking forward to the most right now. I’ll pick the winner on Friday, September 30th. Good luck!!

(ARC) Angels

Update: Thank you for all the great comments. So many reasons for an angel to fall…
I randomly picked two winners, and those winners are: Julie Newberry and Kathy Miller. Congratulations!

Oh, yes, it’s giveaway time. I’ve got 2 Advanced Reader Copies (ARCs) of my December Brava, ANGEL OF DARKNESS, that I want to give away!

Want to win? Then tell me…what do you think could tempt an Angel of Death to fall? What would make him give up heaven in order to face the hell that will be waiting for him on earth? (Yeah, my ANGEL OF DARKNESS hero has to face some drama. What’s life without a little drama?)

This contest will be open until noon Central time on August 25th. Then I’ll select two random winners from all the commenters.

Good luck!

Blurb:

Nicole St. James was a nice woman. An innocent, pretty, twenty-something schoolteacher with her life ahead of her. But as the angel of death, it’s Keenan’s job to take that life away. So when a vampire attacks Nicole, Keenan is not supposed to snap and take out the vampire instead. It cost him his wings–but she’s worth it.

Except when Keenan catches up to his pretty schoolteacher, she’s not so innocent anymore. Hot red lipstick, tight black shorts and long white fangs–she’s ready to kick the asses of anyone who helped turn her into a damn bloodsucker. Unless that ass is unusually shapely and attached to a certain fallen angel. Even with all of heaven and half of hell after them, someone will have to teach Keenan about the fun kinds of sin…

Summer Daze (Plus Eternal Flame Giveaway)

Wednesday, July 27th, 2011
Cynthia Eden Icon

Update: The two ETERNAL FLAME winners are: Hilleary Peterson and Terry F. Congratulations!

Hi, everyone! Hope you’re enjoying the long, lazy days of summer.

For me, summer is the perfect time for reading. Whether I’m in the backyard or chilling on the couch, I like to have a good book handy. Since yesterday was release day (I always look forward to those days), I’ll have to head to the store to pick up some new Bravas–or maybe I’ll download them for my Kindle. The ebook revolution certainly has made buying books easier. One click, and it’s mine. Sweet.

My TBR stack is currently about two feet high (this is the one full of paperbacks). As for my Kindle? Oh, yes, it’s loaded up nicely. Plenty to read. Just need a wee bit more time!

What about you? What does your TBR stack currently look like? Tell me and I’ll pick two commenters to win Kindle copies of ETERNAL FLAME. My most awesome publisher (thank you, Kensington Brava!) is currently offering ETERNAL FLAME for $2.99 on the Kindle. And, even if you don’t own a Kindle, you can still get this great deal. Just use the Free Kindle for PC program on your computer and you can start reading instantly.

But…two commenters don’t have to pay that $2.99. Two will be totally free. So, if you haven’t read ETERNAL FLAME, just comment to win.

Good luck! And enjoy your summer!

Blurb:

No one that deadly should look that good. Hybrid demon Zane Wynter specializes in tracking the most lethal criminals, whether human or Other. But Jana Carter is nothing like his previous targets. She’s an Ignitor, able to conjure and control fire. She’s also sexy beyond belief—and used to playing dirty…

Jana knows she’s being set up. She even knows who’s responsible: Project Perseus, a secretive group that plans to rid the world of paranormals by any means necessary. From Louisiana’s sultry swamps to its desolate cemeteries, Jana and Zane must race to destroy the mastermind behind Perseus before their world goes up in flames—and with it, a desire that burns too hot to resist…

Celebrating a Book Release

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011
Cynthia Eden Icon

It’s that time…well, okay, almost that time. My new paranormal romance, NEVER CRY WOLF, will release on 6/28/11. Awesome!

And, to celebrate, I’d like to invite you to a party. On 6/28/11, I’m going to have an all-day release party on my blog. Each hour, there will be new giveaways posted, new authors visiting, and new books to chat about. Folks can comment on individual posts in order to win particular listed giveaways, and at the end of the event, I will go back in and randomly select commenters to win gift certificates. The comments will be left open until noon on 6/29/11 (that way, there will be plenty of time for folks in different time zones to participate). The more times you comment, the more chances you will have to win.

So, grab your party hat and plan to come by my blog. Fun times are a-coming! (And the werewolves are also coming, too, courtesy of NEVER CRY WOLF…)

Many Brava authors are scheduled to participate in the party (thank you, ladies!). If you love Bravas, then this party is for you!

Have a great day! See you on Tuesday!

Be afraid of the big, bad wolf… (With Giveaway!)

Wednesday, May 25th, 2011
Cynthia Eden Icon

Update: Thanks so much for all of the wonderful comments! There will sure be a lot of summer fun going on. ;) I randomly picked five giveaway winners, and those commenters are: Elena L, Sheryl Vanderveer, Artemis, Susan R., and Tracy W. Congrats to the winners!!

I hope those in the U.S. have a great Memorial Day weekend. Be safe!

In just a little over a month (on June 28th), my next paranormal romance from Kensington Brava will be available–NEVER CRY WOLF will be in the wild!

This book focuses on Lucas Simone, a wolf shifter alpha with a very dark side. Lucas actually first appeared as a secondary character in IMMORTAL DANGER. He was a…bit bad in that story, but aren’t those bad guys fun to read about? (I hope so!) A little darkness can be tempting.

Here’s the blurb for NEVER CRY WOLF:

Lucas Simone is not the kind of guy you mess with. He’s big, he’s strong, and his eyes hint at a wilder side most women can’t handle. Of course, that’s because his predatory instincts are no metaphor—he’s a genuine Grade-A top-quality werewolf, tough enough to fight his way to dominance over the scariest pack on the West Coast. There’s only one chink in his armor. Unlike most alpha dogs, Lucas has a reputation for protecting the weak and innocent.

Sarah King is counting on that protective impulse—it’s the only thing standing between her and certain death. There are only two problems: one, she’s not quite as innocent as she’d like Lucas to believe. And two, if he doesn’t stop stoking Sarah’s animal lust, it’s only a matter of time before her own wild side gets unleashed…

You can read an excerpt from NEVER CRY WOLF here.

Would you like to win an early copy of NEVER CRY WOLF? Because I have five copies that I’d love to giveaway. To enter the giveaway, just leave me a comment. Tell me something fun you’d like to do this summer. I’ll even start the sharing cycle. :) I can’t wait to see the 2nd Hangover movie this summer (opens this weekend!). I’m pretty sure I’ll laugh until I cry.

Now what about you? Share! I’ll leave the contest open until Friday morning at 8 a.m. Eastern time and then I’ll randomly select the winners.

Thank you!

Angels on my mind

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011
Cynthia Eden Icon

Hi, everyone! I hope that you’re having a great day!

I am just pages–PAGES, I tell you!–away from finishing up my latest Kensington Brava manuscript. I’m in deep, and at night, my characters just won’t leave me alone. They nag at me, and all I want to do is write, write, and then, um, write some more.

To give a project update, I am currently working on book 3 of a 4-book Fallen Angels of Death series for Kensington Brava. (So that’s why I’ve got angels on my mind.) But my angels aren’t sweet, they aren’t innocent, and, well, they aren’t exactly looking to help mankind.

These angels were kicked out of heaven for breaking the rules. Their wings burned away when they fell, and now rage lives in their hearts. They are Fallen Angels of Death, so that means with just one touch–they can kill. One touch to give pleasure, one touch to send an enemy to hell.

I really love these guys. :-)

The first book in this series, ANGEL OF DARKNESS, will be out in December. I sure hope readers enjoy my take on angels…and vampires. Did I mention the heroine of ANGEL OF DARKNESS is a vampire? No? Cause she is.

But, before my angels get tossed to earth, I have another paranormal romance that will be released by Kensington Brava on 6/28. NEVER CRY WOLF will be in the wild then–it’s my latest werewolf romance.

As I write books about different supernatural characters–demons, werewolves, vampires, angels–I realize that I love crafting them all. At one point, vampires were my favorite paranormals, but now…the characters have evolved so much that I don’t think I have a favorite any longer. Instead, I have favorite traits. I like alphas. I like smart heroines. I also like men who are willing to risk everything for the women they love. I like characters who make me believe in them. Belief is key.

What about you? What do you like best about characters (human or paranormal)? Are there certain traits you enjoy?

Thanks for checking out my post!

NEVER CRY WOLF–ARC Giveaway

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2011
Cynthia Eden Icon

Update: My apologies! I should have posted the winner’s name yesterday, but I forgot that I had an out of town trip scheduled. To make up for being tardy, I will give away 2 ARCs instead of just one. I randomly picked the winners and they are: Fedora and Michelle Bledsoe. Congrats, ladies! Please email me at cynthia@cynthiaeden.com to claim your ARCs. Have a great weekend!

My wonderful editor recently sent me ARCs of my July Brava, NEVER CRY WOLF. I always love receiving ARCs because it means that my book is very, very close to release. Love that!

Today, I thought I would give one of those ARCs to a commenter. Since the hero of NEVER CRY WOLF is a wolf shifter, just tell me why you think wolf shifters are hot. (And if you don’t think they’re hot–what? Come on!! They’re all wild and strong! But, okay, if you don’t like the wolves, you can tell me the paranormal character/creature that you do enjoy.) I’ll pick a random commenter to win on Friday.

And here’s my NEVER CRY WOLF cover and blurb:

RUNNING WITH A DANGEROUS CROWD

Lucas Simone is not the kind of guy you mess with. He’s big, he’s strong, and his eyes hint at a wilder side most women can’t handle.
