Five Reasons I Love Fallen Angels…
Okay, yes, I’m not exactly unbiased here since I have a whole series about fallen angels (and the next book in this series–ANGEL BETRAYED–will be out on 6/26!), but hey, I’m just sharing the angel love.
So why do I enjoy the fallen angels so much?
1. They aren’t perfect. No, if they were perfect, well, they wouldn’t be *fallen* angels, now, would they? These guys understand sin, and they know all about the price of temptation.
2. Wings. Sure, in my world, a fallen angel’s wings burn away when the angel plummets from heaven, but I’ve always thought it would be cool to see a guy who could fly. Ahem, that may be my superman complex kicking in.
3. They can kick ass. They’re immortal warriors, how can they possibly fear humans or vampires or werewolves? They don’t fear. Everyone—everything—else fears them. To me, that’s just tough and awesome all at once.
4. Despite all of their power, they have a weakness. Emotion. Fallen angels are hungry to taste the emotions of humans. Can you imagine what it would be like to live and feel nothing? Then, what if one day…you got hit with every single emotion out there? Talk about a rush. That rush might just be enough to make a man go insane…or enough to shatter the control of a fallen angel.
5. They smell good.
Seriously. During my angel research, I came across many references indicating that when an angel was near, folks reported smelling the sweet scent of flowers. (Of course, I had to incorporate this bit of lore into my Fallen books.) So maybe the next time you catch that scent in the air…just maybe it will mean that you aren’t alone. Maybe an angel will be close to you…
What do you think about angels? Particularly the fallen sort? Share! I’ll send an autographed copy of ANGEL BETRAYED to one randomly selected commenter.

When you betray an angel, there’s hell to pay…

I love the idea that fallen angels seem to straddle the line between purity and sin. They are strong yet have a weakness that to me, somehow makes them even stronger.
Oh, Kathy, I love your response!
I like that they’re warriors, and that they’re beautiful. What can I say? I’m shallow
Oh, Tiffaney, you aren’t the only one? My shallowness is the reason I love those wonderful guys on True Blood so much! And why I am such a Thor fan.
I love Fallen Angel stories! Fallen to me gives permission to be a little naughty where just “angel” to me means pure/no temptations etc… and I’m sorry but I like temptations LOL!
So Fallen Angels are way sexy.
And I did not know that about Angels having a nice smell.. that is extremely interesting to me! I’ll just tell myself.. “No Chelsea, its not your Bed N Bath wall plugs, its totally a fallen, coming to sweep you off your feet.” haha
well I can dream right?
snorts at Chelsea yeah right
hehehe
LOL I’m not allowed to dream? *pouts*
LOL, Chelsea, you are hilarious! But you are so right–it’s not your wall plugs. It’s the angels.
Cynthia, I know.. I need to bottle my humor, I could make a fortune. *sniffs air* Nope, no angels for me today!
I got an email notice that Bath & Body Works had a sale today–so there may be some good scents/angels in my future!
I like fallen angel heroes. They are awesome. Love the cover to Angel Betrayed.
Thank you! I love that cover, too! One of my favorites!
Love them!
Can’t wait to read it!
Thank you, May!
Loved the first book and can’t wait for the second one. Fallen angels get the go to be naughty sometimes… That is why I like them.
So glad that you enjoyed the first Fallen book! Thank you!
i always curious about fallen angel after i’m watching supernatural, i’m more love them
love the cover of your book =D
Oh, Eli, are you a Castiel fan? I am!! (And thanks for the cover compliment!)
Angels kick ass for one!!! When you think of angels you think of heavenly creatures who can do no wrong but fallen angels are dark,a little mysterious and awesomely naughty. I totally prefer to read about fallen angels lately because frankly I’m tired of reading the same old stuff about vamps and shapeshifters. Love your books. Just got done with the Deadly series and loved them
Thank you, Angel! I’m so happy that you enjoyed the Deadly books. I’m doing more serial killer research right now. My poor husband. Every day, I make him listen to more of the “trivia” that I’ve learned about them!
Hi Cynthia ! Love fallen angel because of their imperfectness. Love it because it makes me realize nothing perfect in this world
Nothing is perfect! That’s kind of the fun part to me.
I love reading about fallen angles . They some how seem more real than vampires and werewolves. That one on the cover above can be mine (I wish)
Petula, consider him all yours!
I love the Fallen Angel angle. There are so many ways they can go. They can be perfectly fine with it (they fell for a reason), or they can struggle with it (they want to redeem themselves). It is a fun concept to play with.
So glad you like the concept! I’ve had such fun with these stories.
Honestly I love fallen angels and all the redemption and such that they need to work threw that and whats not to like sexiness and a dark quality mixed with the good
congrats on the new book

Thank you for the congrats! And I sure enjoy the darkness mixed with their good qualities, too!
Hi Cynthia,
Just like us all… Thanks for such a great opportunity and good luck everyone!
First of all, thank you for writing such amazing stories. Their has not been a book I have read of yours that I didn absolutely love! I really like the fallen angels because they are not perfect. They can understand more than most that everyone makes mistakes, and can learn from them.
Thank you, Melissa!! I am thrilled that you’ve enjoyed my stories–thank you! I have such a wonderful time writing the books, and I just feel lucky to be able to share my stories.
I love your fallen angels. That bad boy angel thing really works.
.
I like angels too but they can be a bit uppity like Az before he fell. The holier than thou so often get smacked upside the head by their own karma – I like that
Don’t enter me – I already have a big fat crush on Sam
Oh, Az does get smacked. Smack!
LOL, and I love that you have a crush on Sam!
I love fallen angel stories! They are trying so hard to be good and things just keep getting in the way. I can’t wait to read this new one, I love, love your books.
Thank you, Martha!!
Sometimes, no matter how hard you try to be good, that little bit of bad can still sneak up on you…
Huh – that is actually neat about the scent factor with angels. Does makes sense too.
Always seemed to like Fallen Angels (Loved the first three movies “Prophecy”) where the angels – though to us seem perfect – that they were always so jealous of us!
Raonaid, you’ve totally got me wanting to watch the Prophecy movies now.
I LOVE fallen angel stories
Can’t wait to read this!
Yay! Thank you!
Hi Cynthia,
I love a fallen angel story. They are the ultimate warriors and bad boys, and watching their first taste of love transform them just captivates me.
Oh, Cathy, I love your comment!! Wish I had listed this as one of my top five reasons!
I haven’t really thought about angels. I think that is interesting about your research and the smell of flowers means that angels are around. I think that is really cool.
Melody, I was really intrigued by the scent link–especially when I found it in four separate angel lore books. Now I tend to pay careful attention to all the scents around me.
I love books of movies about angels. They show you that even angels can do stuff that isn’t good. The one movie I think is the best is about two of god’s main angels and the way God keeps sending down angels down to fight evil and nobody wins so the two angels Michael and Gabriel jumps off the roof .When they come down from the heaven they take human form
so they will die when they jump.
Patricia, what movie was this? I’d love to see it!
I definitely find the idea of fallen angels intriguing–it completely makes sense that they are around, since no being is perfect save God, so what happens to those angels who misstep?? I imagine many of them must have some of those struggles of what to do, whether or not they can or even want to be redeemed… Very much looking forward to reading your Fallen Angels series, Cynthia!

So happy to hear that you are looking forward to the series, Fedora! And you’re right–even the angels are imperfect, so what, exactly can happen to them? A whole lot…
I love everything about fallen angels. They are sexy and I love the fact that they are bad boys.
Those bad boys get me every time…
I love stories about Angels and Fallen Angels. Angel of Darkness and Angel Betrayed. I also enjoy Eve Langlais’s “Satana” series – Auric is a very hot fallen angel too.
I will have to check out her series–I’m all about hot fallen angels.
And thank you!
Cynthia – you would enjoy Eve’s series. Satana is a snarky virgin in the first book.
Good Stuff.
The thing with Fallen Angels is you don’t know how far they have Fallen or if they even want to be good!!! But of course you must save them or what will happen?
I like to think that you can save just about anyone…or any angel.
Great reasons. I like reading about any fallen character. The book sounds good.
Thank you!
Oh my, the best kind of angels would have to be fallen, right? =D Something good all rolled in something wicked *rawr*
Love your reasoning and the giveaway and i´ve already got this on my TBR list! =)
best wishes, Linda xo
LOL, you had me at rawr!
Thank you all so much for the comments! Have a terrific weekend!
