UPDATE: Congrats to Bon for winning the ARC!
Hello all! This is my first Brava post for 2012. Not because I accidentally missed my January spot (which, let’s face it, was entirely possible), but because some stupid hacker took our site down for a couple weeks in January. How, I have no clue. I could no more hack an internet site than beat Dwayne Johnson (a.k.a. The Rock) in an arm wrestling contest.
I have to ask…why don’t these internet gurus use their genius for good rather than…annoyance. Notice I didn’t say evil. They’re not evil. They’re just dumb@$#%s. (I’m pretty sure I can’t swear on the Brava blog).
Anyway, I digress. HAPPY NEW YEAR! And since it’s now February, Happy Valentine’s Month!
I’m gearing up to promote both Tempted and Hunted. Tempted is an e-novella from the Dark Protector series featuring Max, a tough Russian bodyguard, and Sarah, an ex-teacher who just escaped from a mental institution. Really, it could happen to any of us. Please note that you don’t need an e-reader to get Tempted. You can use “Kindle for PC,” which is a free program from Amazon – you just read on your computer. I use it all the time. (I also have a new Kindle Fire I’m loving!) Tempted will be released on March 27th.
Hunted is book three in the series and features Connlan Kayrs, the ultimate soldier, and Moira Dunne, a tough witch from Ireland. The two accidentally mated a hundred years ago, and Conn gave Moira time to train as a witch. Time is up. Hunted will be released on April 24th.
Both books are available for pre-order now. Hint. Hint.

Hunted sounds like my kind of read. I love reading about anything Celtic,would love to read more about Conn and Moira. Can the books be read as stand alones ? I’m definitely intending to read all three for sure but just wanted to ask

Hi Carol! Well, I think they’re stand alone, but I have seen some reviewers suggest that they’re read in order. Tempted (the e-novella) is definitely stand alone. It’s part of the series, but most of the story takes place away from the headquarters of the Realm.

I am utterly obsessed with your Dark Protectors series! Every chance I get I’m re-read Fated and Claimed as well as all the excerpts of Tempted, Hunted, and Consumed that you’ve posted. I’m so excited for Hunted as I can’t wait to see all the trouble Moira gives Conn. I think she’s going to be the most resistant Kayrs mate yet!
Hi Joanne! That’s so nice to hear – I’m glad you like the series! Yeah, I think Moira is pretty tough. But you have to know, Conn hasn’t just been training vampires for a century. He’s been preparing to deal with a powerful witch.

I had friends in junior high school who liked to hack into government sites and leave pics of roses. When they got caught, the government gave them a job testing their security. I wonder if they are still at it.
My favorite hacker movie was War Games with a young Matthew Broderick. In junior high I had a sweatshirt that read “The only way to win is not to play the game.” It was red (my school colors were red and black), so I could wear it for gym. I thought it summed up how I felt about gym class.

Hi Jeanie! I LOVE that movie. In fact, I’ve used that saying abbreviated for different passwords (I’ve since changed them). Don’t know about you, but I actually tried the public telephone trick…but couldn’t get it to work.

Hi Rebecca!! You’ve been on fire this week around the web! I can’t wait to read Tempted and Hunted because I looooove your Dark Protectors! I still get chills thinking about the awesome helicopter scene from Claimed! So cool! I have never been Hacked and I hope it never happens! I don’t understand what joy a person could get out of doing that to someone else ugh! Oh I agree with Jeanie I loved War Games I even liked the recent sequel. That’s a definite negative on beating the Rock at arm wrestling lol!

Hi Asa! I’ll bring the kindle fire to our next meeting, if I can find where I put it. It’s somewhere around here, and I’m going crazy trying to remember where.
That’s why i love my iPod Touch. When I can’t find it, I just use the “Find” app from my computer and it beeps for me. Of course, half the time it’s by my computer and my kids laugh at my “Jeanie moment.”

I have trouble starting my computer much less hacking; you’re right though, could they not use their talents for something good? And no I’ve never been hacked though I did get a virus once and had to have my computer overhauled. NOt a happy person was I.
Last first! I would definately love to wrestle the Rock! <3 I've been hacked a couple of times, can't figure out why, I wouldn't think I'm that interesting! But it hasn't come to much, thank goodness for good protection programs. I don't think I could hack. I have a hard enough time finding sites I've subscribed to!
Most important, the hunted sounds super good. I haven’t read this series but I’m afraid I will have to!
The Hunted sounds like a REALLY good series…that’s why I’d like to have it. NO, I would NEVER hack into anyone’s internet…and thankfully no one has hacked into mine (that I know of anyway). And…no, I couldn’t beat the Rock at arm wrestling…but, I’d love to take him down to the ground and wrestle with him any day of the week!

Hey – I might be too late to enter but wanted to comment either way (although I would love to win). I could never hack an internet site either. I wish that I was that smart. There are days that actually getting around my own site is challenging. Sorry that some super smart people with too much time and not enough good sense messed up your world for a bit.
