Mia...that's wonderful! We do have a small parrot, who we met one Christmas Eve. I was walking around a pet store and there was my husband just playing with this little bird...who hadn't sold and was going to spend Christmas Day in the closed shop...he's my husbands baby.

Indie sounds wonderful! I agree...loved is the word!

My non-human family member is Mack, a terrier mix who's a puppy mill reject. He was born with a surgically repairable defect, but the breeder was going to put a bullet in his little head. My brother-in-law said he'd take him, so Mack went to the vet for surgery when he was tiny.

Then when Mack was released from the vet, my BIL's old dog didn't like the newcomer, so Mack came to live with us. He's a sweet little snuggler who loves to assume the "writing position" with me in my recliner.

"Accidental" pets are the best.

OMG, he has to be the most gorgeous bird I've ever seen! That cobalt blue is so vivid!! Amazing!

Our critter is our year old pound pup, Indie. He now sleeps in our bed, under the covers, hogging pillows.

Spoiled? I'd rather call it loved. He's a better pup than we ever dreamed of.
