Hi, Cynthia! I love fairy tales and now as a grown-up, I love retellings and new twists! I think Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorites, although I also enjoy other un-Disneyfied ones, like The Shoemaker and the Elves, and so on

I always liked Snow White – but felt that she was too “whimpy”. If anyone wanted to make my day, they’d re-write it as ‘Formerly Snow White and the 7 Frat Brothers’!

This blog is making me laugh. My wip is a twist on Beauty and the Beast. But my favorite fairy tale is Puss N Boots. I’ve been trying for more than a year to fit a story around it, but so far haven’t come up with anything.

My favorite fairy tale has always been Beauty and the Beast because Belle was such a caring and SMART woman and the Beast waiting for someone to look beyond his curse. Ahhh, romance.
Did you hear that a director wants to remake Sleeping Beauty-sort of. He wants to tell the tale from the point of Malificent.

Beauty and the Beast has always been one of my favorites too. I believe the ‘fairy tale’ comes in that the beast is willing to change for Beauty.
I would really like to see a human version of the Ugly Duckling where beauty is decided by love and not by looks.
