I’m so jazzed to say my second Brava book, The Redemption of Micah, hit shelves June 30 here in the US (August 1 in the UK). Not only does it have Nathan Kemp on the cover, but it’s purple too. LOL. Seriously though, I am so proud to see it on the shelves! My local B&N here in Raleigh had five copies and they were in the “new” romance shelf face out.
*squee*
And now comes book number three, titled The Stranger’s Secrets. When I signed my contract with Kensington last year, I didn’t know what book three was going to be about to be honest. *blush* And yet when I was writing Micah’s story, and his sister Sarah appeared in it, I knew that’s who book three would be about.
Sarah is my first disabled heroine. She walks with a cane due to some traumatic injuries she suffered at the age of seventeen – and no, I’m going to make you wait and find out exactly what, where and why. Evil, I know.
I just finished the copy edits on Sarah’s book (yay!) and it was really a joy to re-read the story. It really brought me back into exactly what she had to endure and how she survived – a Civil War heroine has to be tough and kick-ass. Sarah is that and more, yet falling in love with Whitman Kendrick, a Yankee to her Southerner status, allows her to let go of the hurt, the resentment, and the fury she’s been carrying for ten years.
Yep, I fell in love with the story all over again. *dork*
I just got the cover flats for The Stranger’s Secrets – if you’d like one, post a comment and I’ll send one to you. How’s that for a happy Monday surprise!
Sarah’s book releases December 29, or a January release just in time to start a new year! Woot!

Hi Beth,
I would love to have a cover flat for Sarah’s story!
I think the first book I read that had a heroine that was disabled in it was Mouth to Mouth by Erin McCarthy, then Promises Reveal by Sarah McCarty. I didn’t know how I would like them because let’s be honest it seems like almost all heroines are beautiful on the outside and described as perfect…and well that’s what readers get used to. Both of these stories have become all time favs, not only because they had disabilities to overcome, but because they were fabulous love stories. Love them, so can’t wait for Dec.!

I’d so very much love a coverflat too!
And congrats on all the books and good luck with the future one too — and it’s a great cover for the one above, and Stranger’s Secrets sounds great and nice and different.
