Less than a week until release day…

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009
Cynthia Eden Icon

I call this time my “final countdown” period. You see, I’ve got just less than a week until my next Kensington Brava title, MIDNIGHT’S MASTER, is on the shelves of a bookstore near you (or available from your favorite online book retailer!).

This is the third installment in my Midnight trilogy, and to celebrate it’s release, I’ve been running “30 Days of Demons” over at my blog. If you haven’t checked out the demon fun, come on by! There are still plenty of prizes to win! :-)

And if you’re curious about MIDNIGHT’S MASTER, well, let me share the blurb with you:

In a world of shadows, desire conquers all…

Tall, dark, and formidable, Niol Lapen is the last demon on earth most people would ask for a favor, yet the sexy little reporter who wanders into his club dares to do exactly that. Holly Storm already knows too much about his kind, and Niol has no wish to help her get in deeper over her head. But working alongside her may be the only way to stop a killer, even as it ignites a primal desire unlike anything he’s known.

Holly has seen firsthand what Niol is capable of, but that doesn’t frighten her nearly as much as her body’s instinctive reaction to him, or the wild, fierce passion that would tempt her to follow him through hell itself. Something evil and relentless is prowling the streets of Atlanta. And as Holly’s search leads her into danger that even Niol could never have predicted, she’ll uncover a secret that could rip her world apart.

*********************************************************************************

But MIDNIGHT’S MASTER isn’t the only upcoming Brava release that I have. In September, I’ll be in the BELONG TO THE NIGHT anthology with Shelly Laurenston and Sherrill Quinn (fabulous authors!).

And…guess what? I’ve got a BELONG TO THE NIGHT Advanced Reader Copy that I’d love to give away! So leave me a comment. Tell me about your plans for the week (mine consist of my previously mentioned publishing countdown!), or tell me about the good books you’ve read lately. I’ll be back on Friday to announce the winner. Good luck!

Reader/Writer Weekend

Lori Foster, Donna McMeans, Dianne CastellCheck to One Way Farm 2009Get Together 09_authorsHi, Everyone

Lori Foster and I just finished up our fifth annual Reader/Writer Weekend here in Cincinnati. What a blast. We had 310 attendees including over 100 authors and Margo Lipschultz from Harlequin, Rose Hilliard from St. Martins, and Roberta Brown and Karen Solem agents all taking appointments.

And from the wonderful donated baskets…over 100 this year…we raised $6616 for One Way Farm here in Cincinnati, a place for abused and abandoned kids ages 2 to 22. We always raise funds for the troops and this year took in $500 in cast plus supplies to be mailed off. Thanks Laurie Damron for heading this up.

But the most important part of the weekend was fun! I think this was the best get-together yet. Maybe because after doing this for five years Lori and I are getting the hang of it…though every year is different.

We had so many newbees which is great. The word is getting out that we are the best deal around for $50 for the weekend and that includes four meals thanks to Liquid Silver, Samhain, Blue Sapphire and All Romance ebooks who kicked in donations to offset the price of lunch. And we had a great bookfair with Barnes and Noble where 15% of the profits also go to One Way Farm.

There was plenty of downtime to chat with readers and authors. And we really do try and make it a get-together mixing up authors and readers at tables. I also had an Afterglow brunch at my house where we chatted about the event and did wind-down from the get-together. I have a video we did on this and I’ll have it ready by the end of the week. If you stop by my website you can see what everyone is saying about the get-together…and other thing!

It was a terrific weekend and I hope you all get a chance to come next year. We had attendees from Washington, California, many from New York and the Carolinas and Florida.

See you next year!

Hugs,
