With even self-described “book people” embracing Amazon’s Kindle, the e-reader is poised to become the most popular gadget you don’t yet have. NBC’s Clare Duffy reports.

   Ooo great interview, Kate! And amazon gets another marketing kick with the msnbc report. I’m still torn on which ereader to get – and realized, while I love e-ink technology, the flashing/negative/whatever while turning the page makes me batty. I don’t think I can wait until that issue is resolved, however, considering that’s the way it works.
   Not sure if I’d give up paper books altogether if I had an ereader, but I’ll never know until I get one

   I haven’t given up books. It’s not an either/or thing. More like the ultimate reader accessory.

   Kate – I know it’s not black and white – it’s that I’m running out of space – so the idea would be to phase out paper books if I got an ereader. (With an extra memory stick.) I’m holding out for more news though, before making a final decision.

   I will be converted sooner or later to the Kindle or the Sony… just biding my time. And I know when I get one and hubby sees it, he’ll have to have his own. Maybe that’s why I’m waiting.

   Great segment, Kate. It’s almost sold me on the Kindle and I am a supreme resister. Then I look around my house with my overflowing bookshelves and boxes filled with still more books and think — Hmmm, the space-saving features are very attractive.

    I think the kindle is great, but there are some people that don’t have one which is why I think other distributors like mobipocket should be used additionally. Mobipocket can be downloaded to a PDA or a PC. I will be using both to make sure everyone has access to my work.
