This is the time of year for resolutions. People make lists of things they want to do and accomplish. Many of the lists I’ve seen go like this: lose weight, stick to a budget and get published. All those sound familiar to me. And to get in the spirit I’ve been thinking about what my 2009 goals should be and have come up with a few book-related ones:
1. Read more. Sylvia Day mentioned on her blog about trying to read one book per week. I like that plan and am going to try to do the same.
2. Budget my writing time better. I can procrastinate really well. I consider myself something of an expert at it. Need to work on that.
3. Try writing a book I’ve been dying to write forever.
4. See if I can write two Hawaii-related books that have been kicking around in my head.
5. Worry less about what other authors are doing and what the market is doing and focus on the things I can control.
Anyone else have any resolutions or goals?

I’ve not made resolutions for this year, only made general thoughts about improving myself in some way, eat healthier, read more books, take a really nice vacation.
One thing I’ve been really good at that I carried over from last year is saving my change and paying that money towards my bills, so now I feel like the vacay is a nice reward for being so good *g* And the one smart thing I did was open a vacay account so that way I don’t have to use a credit card. It’s hard work, but it’s so worth it.
My goal is to eat healthier so I can lose some weight.
I don’t actually make resolutions, but do plan to take better care of myself – physically and emotionally. I want to get my body in some kind of shape (I’m so out of shape it would be a joke to say I want to get in “better” shape!) and reduce some of the stressors in my life.
I haven’t made any specific resolutions but have a couple general goals. The big one is to declutter the house, which is pretty daunting. The other is to try to be a bit more balanced about my book acquisition (not EVERY book’s a keeper!) but that’s almost harder!
Happy 2009, HelenKay!
My resolution is to not feel guilty about blogging too much! But I’ve already broken it.
I didn’t make any specific resolutions (I never keep them) – but I do have general goals. They’re not so much year as life specific … and necessary… but graduating and passing the bar are at the top of the list. :\
I definitely have some resolutions, the standard of course would be to lose weight, lol. i hate dieting. I already read a book a day, it’s my favorite thing to do so i left that off this year. Getting some bills paid off would be one of the major ones but i started an adventure in 2008 that i would love to complete in 2009. I started writing. I did finish a short story and have a couple other longer ones in the process. I’ve had some great help from some other wonderful authors and advice from a few great editors so i’m keeping my fingers crossed. I’ve read a couple of the Bad Boys books you wrote in and loved them so now i’m working on getting your other books. Thanks for the great work you do !!! Krista
