November? Already? What happened to this year? It just slipped away. Poof and it’s almost gone.
I went to my meeting on Saturday and when I got home Karl had cut back all the trees. They look horrible! Naked! But next year they’ll be absolutely beautiful.
I also went shopping yesterday. Usually I feel better after shopping. I didn’t. It sucked. Target had flat screen monitors on sale for $168. We wanted standard rather than wide screen and we wanted two. They only had one and the sale just went on yesterday. Why do they advertize something then not have it in stock?
I think I’m going to have a giveaway. A ten thousand dollar precious gem necklace and I’ll give one to every person who enters until I run out of them. It doesn’t matter that I don’t have any.
Except I think I’d piss a lot of people off and rightly so.
Target also had a nice desk that was just right as far as the size we need. We could put them side by side if we had two. Except they only had one. We’re combining work offices and we want to go over things together.
We went to Walmart and found a desk. It was pretty cool looking. They only had one but the guy, although he was extremely slow, said there were three at the other store. Even though we were tired, we got back in the car and drove across town.
Guess what. Yep, they only had one and we hadn’t bought the other one.
Shopping was not fun. We’ve decided Karl can build a better looking desk and it won’t be made of cheap materials. And we’ll check back with Target to see if the monitors come in.
What was your worse shopping experience? Go ahead, now is the time to get it out of your system. I can sympathise with you. ![]()

I saw on your blog you were here, thought I would swing by and say, “hi”.
I am not a fan of shopping. When I was younger I loved it, now that I’m a mom, not as fun. It’s even less fun when I am being drug through the mall by a 13 year old drama queen who lives for the mall.
I hate shopping!
I was looking for bar stools. The store only had one of the kind I wanted, so I had them order three more. They Said they would call me when the came in. A week went by and I stopped to see if they were in. They were and they had put them on the floor for sale. I will not order anything there again.
BIG HUGS!
I am not a big shopper…in fact unless it is for books, I hate it. And I totally understand what you mean about the whole advertising thing. I actually read the fineprint in an ad once for a good deal and it said, only 10 per store…this was one of those day-after-Thanksgiving ads too so you know those items would go fast.
I hate shopping. I go to the stores for what I need and that is it. But as you say it is equally discouraging when they advertise something and then don’t have it. And as Christmas draws nearer I will be frequenting the stores less………
I still love to “window shop”, but if I’m looking for something specific–ugh, different story! I see I’m not the only one with shopping woes!

Oh I am a die hard shopper! I love any shopping, groceries, clothes, shoes, appliances, crafts, etc. Window shopping is so much fun! I have a group of friends who love to go to Chicago so we take the train, make a day of it, and have a blast! Actually I have fun in everything I do such as going with my husband to his farm shows. I don’t like farming stuff but it is so much fun seeing him so happy, and there are so many fun things to do at the shows and neat people to see that I don’t mind at all. One time we went to one of his shows and saw George Bush senior campaigning at it, shook his hand and talked to him. Also, Crystal Gail was at the show and sang in concert.
I definitely have to be in the mood to shop because I can’t stand the crowds at the mall. I am a “get in, get out, get on with my day” type of shopper, and the strolling people drive me nuts. Now books, well, that’s different. Plus, if I couldn’t get to a bookstore, there’s always online.
I definitely have to be in the right mood to shop. I work better with a list too.
Hubby and I went to Target yesterday morning to buy our 6 nieces and 1 nephew their Christmas gifts (they range in age from 3 to 11 1/2 years old). I had my list and we did it all in under 1 hour. Now all I have to do is get hubby to wrap them for me.
I do a lot of holiday shopping online – that works for me!
Sorry, that’s not a bad shopping experience. Honestly, I can’t think of one off the top of my head. I find if I’m organized I do OK. Of course you can’t count on the stores having what you want, that’s why I like shopping online.
