A big Brava Author’s welcome to our newest blogger, Charlotte Mede. Be sure to mark your calendars for the release of Charlotte’s first Brava, Explosive which goes on sale January 2nd!!
Due to technical difficulties - meaning Jamie didn’t off her big fat rump fast enough to set up Charlotte up to post her blog herself - I’m posting Charlotte’s blog for her today.
So, without further excuses from moi, take it away Charlotte…
I’m going to come clean right off and confess that I’m a blog virgin. Never blogged before in my life. Until today. So thank you for the opportunity Brava Authors. I’ll try to be interesting and provocative and get everybody’s juices flowing.
First off, who’s out there? Why are you here? And why are you blogging rather than reading a great Brava romance? Why am I asking? Because I’m worried and because I keep hearing that reading is dying – what with everybody multi-tasking in cyberspace, pointing and clicking and downloading. Even movie people are concerned, convinced that fewer people than ever have the staying power to sit through a ninety-minute film. Ditto reading which seems so last century, taking heaps of our time when we have less and less of it.
So what do you think – is the future of the book the blurb?

Hi Charlotte! Good luck with “Explosive”. It sounds intriguing and I think I’ll have to add it to the tbb pile.
I blog, have my own in fact, and I think it’s because I don’t watch much t.v. that I feel it’s okay to surf the net and chat with other people online - I gave something up for another guilt pleasure. My blog is like a journal of sorts. Strange, I know, when I could actually be hanging out with real people at the movies (did that Friday night) or in a restaurant or at home.
I just like the diversion, because even though I love to read, and must have reading material within reach (at the table when I’m eating, in the car, at work) my brain needs a bit of a break now and again. And when it’s too nippy to be outside, blogging can be fun, especially when you’re connecting with people in California or Canada or thousands of miles away.
I don’t think reading will ever go the way of the dinosaur - I think it’s a cyclical thing, at least it is for me. I can probably read a book a day if I truly wanted to, but then I’d miss out on…blogging. *g*
Welcome Charlotte. I read everyday. I still read the newspaper daily. Many people get their news online. I will still be reading books for many years to come. Blogging is a great pastime. Don’t think I’ll be giving it up anytime soon.
This book looks sooo good! I visit blogs to learn more about books and authors and to meet fellow readers (nice to have people who get your love of books), but I don’t let it interfere with my reading. I also have my own blog where I talk mostly about books and reading…LOL
I certainly hope reading isn’t dying. If it is, I didn’t get the memo…LOL. I always make time for reading!
I read everyday. I also read the newspaper everyday. I don’t watch much tv, so figure blogging can take its place.
well yes and no lol. I’m afraid I’d probably be reading more if I wasn’t on this darn computer but it does help find me new authors and books. I tend to do certain things for a while and then get overdoesed. I used to do chats like crazy and now I do none. Then I did a lot of individual contests - not so much any more. At the moment I’m doing blogs but who knows how long I’ll keep it up lol. Reading will never die but it may have it’s ups and downs.

I am an avid reader! I have been reading ever since I was a little kid. I read every single night in bed before I go to sleep. Sometimes I read for a half an hour, sometimes 2 hours when I can’t put a book down. I also read everything in sight! Magazines, newspapers, recipes, books, love books!
