My closet is once again out of control. Between my, ahem, slipper problem (I have way too many pairs, some bunny slippers, some Disney character slippers, some down slippers . . . you get the picture) and then there’s all the books in there, and that combined with my little disorganizational problem . . . well, you can imagine. I’d take a picture but it’s too embarrassing.
So I’m once again divulging myself of some books. I have three ARCs left of STRONG AND SEXY, which comes out in late December. I’m going to put up an excerpt here, and if you’re interested, post a comment and you’re in the running. Oh, and also? I want to hear what you’re all reading. I’m in the middle of Tangled Up In You, by Rachel Gibson, and am hooked, which was desperately needed.
And if you’re not reading, we can talk about my second great love, TV. What are you watching? Besides the usuals (House, Heroes, Extreme Home Makeover, Grey’s, Las Vegas, et al), I’m totally and completely gone over Dirty Sexy Money this season. Anyone else??
Okay now as promised, the excerpt for:
Excerpt:
“I saw the mistletoe,” she rushed to explain. “It’s everywhere. And people were kissing. And I couldn’t get kissing off my mind . . . God. Forget it, okay? Just forget me.” She took a step back, but because this was her, she tripped over something on the floor behind her. She’d have fallen to her ass if he hadn’t held her upright. “Thanks,” she managed. “But I need to go now. I really need to go—“
He put a finger to her lips.
Right. Stop talking. Good idea.
His eyes, still hot, and also a little amused – yeah, because that’s what she wanted to see in a man’s eyes after she’d tried to seduce him, amusement — locked onto hers. She couldn’t look away. There was just something about the way he was taking her in, as if he could see so much more than she’d intended him to. “Seriously. I’ve—“
He turned away.
Okaaaay . . . “Got to go.”
But he was rustling through one of the shelves. Then he bent to look lower and she tried not to look at his butt. She failed, of course. “Um, yeah. So I’ll see you around.” Or not. Hopefully not—
“Got it.” Straightening, he revealed what he held – a sprig of Mistletoe.
“Oh,” she breathed. Her heart skipped a beat, then raced, beating so loud and hard she couldn’t hear anything but the blood pumping through her veins.
His mouth quirked slightly, but his eyes held hers, and in them wasn’t amusement so much as . . .
Pure staggering heat.
“Did you change your mind?” he asked.
Was he kidding? “No.”
With a smile that turned her bones to mush, he raised his arm so that the mistletoe was above their heads.
Oh, God.
“Your move,” he whispered.
She looked at his mouth, her own tingling in anticipation. “Maybe you could . . .”
“Oh, no. I’m not taking advantage of a woman in a closet, drenched in champagne.” He smiled. “But if she wanted to take advantage of me, now see, that’s a different story entirely.”
He was teasing her, his eyes lit with mischievousness, and a wicked, wicked intent.
“I’m a klutz,” she whispered. “I might hurt you by accident.”
“I’ll take my chances.”
She laughed. She couldn’t help it. She laughed, and he closed his eyes and puckered up, making her laugh some more, making it okay for her to lean in . . .
And kiss him.

I just finished “Room Service” by Amy Garvey and started reading “The Seance” by Heather Graham. I’ve been watching 30 Rock, NCIS, Pushing Daisies and Life. I’m waiting for Lost to return. “Strong and Sexy” sounds like a great read. I really enjoyed “Shadow Hawk” and “Get a Clue.”
ooh, I like the one. Romantic and funny…great excerpt! I just finished reading an ebook. Yesterday, my order came and I got Tangled Up In You and Born to be Wilde. I’m going to start with Janelle’s book. I’m watching Kid Nation, Dancing With the Stars and The Bachelor.
I enjoyed “Tangled Up in You” and now I’m reading “Exremely Hot” by Jennifer Apodaca.
Besides my usual shows (mostly crime-dramas and a few comedies), I’m only watching two new shows this year, Moonlight and Women’s Murder Club.
I can’t wait to read this one.

Well, I’m caught up in the magical fantasy romance series by C.L. Wilson. Just finished “Lord of the Fading Lands” and am deep into “Lady of Light & Shadow” and I am lovin’ it.

As for TV. I’m still watching Greys, The Office and Scrubs. Plus I’ve added Friday Night Lights. I’ve been trying to watch The Reaper, but keep forgetting what night it comes on. Dirty Sexy Money looks pretty good. I’ve caught it a couple times after Grey’s Anatomy goes off. I might have to keep watching. So many hot men! Mmm.
Sounds like a really hot book! I just finished Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer which was very powerful and extremely insightful (I would recommend it to anyone with teenage boys who feel the need to explore their boundaries.) Right now I’m reading Sealed with a Kiss by Carly Phillips and Civil War Battles (a nonfiction book by multiple authors).
Love the excerpt and can’t wait for the December release. Right now I’m reading JD Robb’s Eternity in Death. I do tend to watch alot of tv, but the only shows you didn’t mention that I’m watching are Women’s Murder Club, Ugly Betty, and Men in Trees. I have to find time to watch some shows this weekend to clen out the tivo.

As far as TV ~ I watch too much. Well, there are a few shows I just have to watch and then I Tivo the rest ~ and may or may not watch. My must-sees are Brothers & Sisters, Ugly Betty, Moonlight, Cold Case, and Dancing with the Stars

Klutzes are so much fun to read about; I guess ’cause I can truly relate. It’s been less than a week since I went for a little “trip” down the road next to my house. 
As for current reads, I am on a Catherine Anderson kick. Trying to catch up on all those Kendricks and Coulters.

I have been able to catch some must see TV- I LOVE The Office! I have been a loyal viewer from the beginning. I also recently got addicted to Gossip Girl. It may be a bit cheesy and teenage soap opera but it sucks you in.(and it doesn’t hurt that it has a couple of attractive guys on it) lol Also I must have my daily does of What Not To Wear- I think someone needs to nominate me for that. haha:)
Thanks for the excerpt, Jill - can’t wait to read the book. I loved the first in the series, and I’ve got to tell you - you write just like the title - smart and sexy, with great humour thrown in. I really like Rachel Gibson’s books - just reread Daisy’s Back in Town, as well as Christie Ridgway’s Must Love Mistletoe and VR Ward’s Lover Unbound. The only tv I’ve watched in ages was the Dave Matthews Band Green Concert a couple of weeks ago - those guys are fabulous - check out the guy who plays the electric violin.
Jill, Jill, Jill… you just keep teasing us with these exerpts. I’m reading Revolting Librarians Redux right now… pretty fascinating stuff if you’re interested in librarians.

I just finished an ARC of She’s on Top by Susan Lyons for review - an excellent book and great finale to the series. Now I’m reading Upon The Midnight Clear by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I didn’t even realize it was out until I walked into WalMart yesterday.
I watch the Monday night comedies on CBS and The Unit on Tuesdays and try to watch Moonlight on Fridays but high school football is into the playoffs so we’ve been going to the games. And while I like to read some vampire stories, seeing the blood dribbling down Mick’s chin just didn’t do much for me.

My new TV addiction is The Big Bang Theory. There is nothing funnier on TV. (check my recent blog and you’ll see what I mean) Also I’m still addicted to Grey’s and watching Men In Trees, Private Practice and Big Shots. I tivo’d an episode of Dirty Sexy Money this week. I’ll certainly have to check it out now at your recommendation.
The only books I am reading are college texts right now but I have Noah’s Bark, Home At Last and Love Heals All (all veterinary related romance of course) in the que for as soon as the semester ends. I’ll have to add Strong and Sexy since it comes out during the break. Can’t wait to catch up with Noah and Bailey and the rest!

I just finished Stephanie Rowe’s Sex and the Immortal Bad Boy. I’m on to Alexandra Ivy’s Embrace the Darkness and Gemma Halliday’s Undercover in High Heels.
My new shows this fall are Big Shots, Reaper, Samantha Who? and Moonlight (though I will probably give up on Moonlight). Some old fav’s are Smallville, NCIS and Psych on USA.

Let’s see.. what I’m reading…I just did a review of the books I read last month. Had a banner month and read 20 books. Two of your older books were on the list.. Blue Flame and Seeing Red.
I’m working through my TBR pile and read Rachel Gibson’s book along with the two earlier books in the series. I loved Tangled the best.
TV-wise we are House lovers and glad that they are showing the show on the same time frame as the States.

Right now I’m reading The Marsh Hawk by Dawn Mactavish.
And watching Moonlight, Dancing with the Stars, Criminal Minds, Ugly Betty etc.
I am reading the Heir and enjoying it. I have been watching Dirty, Sexy, MOney and love it, especially Donald Sutherland. he is my fave.
I’m reading I’m Your Santa by Lori Foster, etc. and Seducing the Mercenary by Loreth Anne White. Would love to add a Shalvis to that pile.
As for TV - Dancing with the Stars, House Hunters, CSI (Vegas), the whole Friday CBS lineup. And I’ve recently got hooked on Ghost Hunters.
I don’t watch much TV. I do catch Dancing with the Stars and The Next Iron Chef and I’ll be glued to the TV when Amazing Race starts this weekend.
I’m currently reading Lady Be Bad by Candice Hern and listening to Light in Shadow by Jayne Ann Krentz.
Got lots of reading done last weekend: Lick of Frost by LKH, Mane Event by Shelly Laurenston, Caine’s Reckoning by Sarah McCarty, and just started Tara Janzen’s, On The Loose. So far, all excellent reads. As for tv, I have pretty much got everything on tivo and enjoying the heck out of sailing thru all the commercials.

Funny you should ask what I am reading right now. I am currently reading your book, GET A CLUE. It is hysterical! I am at the part where Breanne is thawing herself out in front of the fireplace in the dark. Next, the pink glowing vibrator falls out of her pocket as she struggles to take her pants off. Then Cooper pulls her pants the rest of the way off for her. This vibrator has a way of popping up at all the wrong times! It is funny how you factored it in to provide Breanne with a little light since she is in the dark. I love this book! I can’t wait to see how the read the rest of the story!
I have found some of your older books at the library book sale in my town! Woohoo! Charmed And Dangerous, Naughty But Nice, and The Street Where She Lives. I was so excited! I haven’t picked up a copy yet of Trouble with Paradis. I have heard such great reviews about that book!

I’m currently reading “Make Me a Match” by Diana Holquist and I am enjoying it very much. I will be looking for the related book asap. I will love to see more of some characters.
Haven’t had much chance to read, but I’m about 50 pages into Kon-Tiki by Thor Hyerdahl. I’m a history and anthropology nut, so I’m intrigued so far even though it’s pretty far outside my usual reading fare. I’m also trying my first audio book, Merlin by Stephen Lawhead. A bit dry so far, but interesting. Hard to go wrong with Arthurian lore.
Love Dirty Sexy Money, too. I tuned in at first because I just can’t not watch something Peter Krause is in, but found myself really enjoying it. Absolutely hooked on Friday Night Lights, too. Journeyman looks interesting, but I’ve only seen a couple episodes. I’ve heard it compared to Quantum Leap and Early Edition, two of my all time faves, so I’ve got to watch more.
