I know it’s winter, but it’s time for a beach read! My book THE SEX ON THE BEACH BOOK CLUB was released yesterday. To celebrate I thought I’d pick two people from the comments, and send them a copy of The Sex on the Beach Book Club. I’ll pick the winners Thursday morning and post them on the comments. You’ll need to check the comments and email me your addresses (I’ll give you my email address on the comments when I announce the winner).

Just tell me why you like a “beach read” in winter and you’re entered!

  1. Maureen Says:

I love it when it’s bitter cold and there’s snow on the ground to read a book that brings me back to the summer and I’m sitting on the beach reading a great book and listeningn to the crashing of the waves.

  2. Stacy ~ Says:

More than ready! I live in the midwest, and while we’ve had a mild winter, I am not an outdoors person in winter - HATE being cold. I love walking around barefoot on the beach, (or with sandals), wearing shorts and tank tops and soaking up the sun. It rejuvenates me. Winter seems to sap my strength - even though I take vitamins LOL. Right now I’m imagining ways I can earn enough frequent flyer miles to book a trip to Hawaii, or some tropical island. I’ve got a looooong way to go!

  3. Theresa N. Says:

The thought of a summer beach in winter is a balm to my soul. The sound of the ocean, the smell of the salt air. A summer beach read in winter should be a must for all of us.

  4. Dru Ann Says:

The ocean breeze, the blue skies, the wonders of the beach makes it a perfect read during the winter months.

I bought the book yesterday and once I read the first chapter, I was hooked. Now I can’t wait to finish it.

  5. Kathleen Says:

Congrats on your new book release!
I could definitely use some sunny and warm weather right now. The midwest is COLD!! If I can’t be there then at at least I can read about it :)

  6. Susan Says:

They make these awful winter colds, like the one I have now:evil:, bearable!

  7. alissa Says:

I love summer, the sunshine, the warmth and the soothing rays of the sun in the bright blue sky. The beach has always had a wonderful allure for me and I could spend every single summer reading on the beach, day after day and never tire of it. This environment is to me the most restful and healthful. Beach reading has always appealed to me.

  8. Liz Denler Says:

    Ready Ready Ready
Its a cold dreary day here. I wish I was at the beach or somewhere warm.
    WTG on the release Jennifer

  9. RobynL Says:

Right now reading about the beach would bring sunshine to my mind instead of the dreary day we have here; it would bring warmth to my mind instead of the cold wintery day we have; it would bring the sounds of birds, waves crashing, etc. All in all it would bring Sunshine, Freshness, Warmth to my soul.

  10. Jennifer Y. Says:

I like Beach reads in winter because they remind me that summer is not too far away. They take my mind off the cold weather and let me imagine for a little while that I am someplace warm and sunny.

    Congrats on the release.

  11. Dannyfiredragon Says:

    Hi Jennifer,

I love to read beach stories in the mid of winter because it takes my imagination away from the dreary cold outside and transports me to a warmer place

  12. Nichole Says:

Beach reads in the winter are a great way to beat the wintertime blues. I also read Christmas stories in the swealtering heat of summer to make it a bit more bearable.

  13. Patty L. Says:

I am a beach baby at heart. I love anything to do with the beach and I can not find a time ever that is not a good time for a beach read.

  14. Estella Says:

Beach reads in winter remind me that this too shall pass and it will be warm and sunny again.

  15. cathy Says:

Beach reads in winter are the perfect fantasy read. While all wrapped up and cozy, you can let your mind go to an exotic, romantic, and warm beach for a few blissful hours.

  16. Carol M Says:

A beach read makes me forget how cold I am. It makes me forget that I have extra clothes on to keep warm and that I’m hiding under a blanket to read! It also makes me forget all the snow that I will be shoveling and how cold my nose and toes will get when I’m outside!

  17. Jennifer K. Says:

I’m with everyone else… I love a good beach read. Makes me think of warmer weather and that summer isn’t too far away (although with it snowing outside, it sure feels like it’s gonna be a long winter).

  18. JT Says:

I love the Beach. Especially at night with a coffee. This time of year the water is cold and with the rain, there is nothing warm about it. The read will be great. Thanks for the chance to warm up

  19. Cryna Says:

    Congratulations on your release, Jennifer.

I would love a beach read as a means of escape from the snow that is now coming down outside my window, and the treacherous roads we have outside right now with warnings if we do not have to be outside to stay off the roads. And since it is my birthday, it would be just great……..thanks for the chance to win.

  20. Lisa W Says:

I would love a beach read and a vacation to a hot and sunny beach resort, lol.

  21. Deborah Says:

I wish I was on a beach reading your book because it started to snow today.

  22. Shuck Ying Says:

Imagine a white sandy beach, hot weather, hunky bodies and your book. Yay!

  23. pearl Says:

I love beach books since they provide me with an abundance of pleasure, sunshine and tranquillity. I have always had a fascination with beaches and the beauty and sheer vastness gives me inspiration to create and the appreciation of the setting warms my soul.

  24. Sue A. Says:

I need a vacation somewhere preferably warm and since I can’t afford to take one the next best thing is a beach read to send my imagination there instead.

I would love to be lying on a warm beach on a blanket with a cool ocean breeze caressing my skin, instead of lying here in bed under the blankets shivering whenever a cold draft of air hits me.

  25. Zara Says:

Congratulations on your release Jennifer! It looks fabulous!

A beach read would be a timely and welcome treat right now. I enjoy winter through Christmas, but then I always long for warm weather. I love going to the beach both in reality and through the pages of a book! I’ve always felt drawn to the ocean more than any other place.

  26. Pat L. Says:

I beach read in the winter is just the thing to warm me up in the colder weather. Saw the book in Borders yesterday! Love the cover.

  27. Karen T. Says:

We went to Hawaii for 2 weeks on our honeymoon and it was fabulous. So a beach read would be just the ticket during the winter months.

  28. catslady Says:

Since we live in a cold area and never get away to enjoy a real beach, I would love to immerse myself in a book that would make me think I was really there

  29. Rose G. Says:

It has been mild here this winter pretty much. But it is still COLD - looking forward to warmer weather again and a summer beach read would surely be nice.

  30. TammyG. Says:

I’d be sitting by a warm fire, reading the beach read imaging I was on the beach reading and the warmth of the fire was the sun. I would be enjoying the book in the winter on my on imagined beach.

  31. Helen L. Says:

:smile:I would love to have a summer read book now to make me all toasty and warm. Count me in.

  32. Jennifer Apodaca Says:

  33. Liz Denler Says:

    Yippee
Thank You Jennifer and Congrats to Nicole:lol::lol::lol::lol:

  34. Maria Duncan Says:

I live in Ireland where it is freezing all year except for a small few sunny days sprinkled through the summer months, so I love beach reads all year round. When it is lashing rain outside and the wind is blowing away the trees, I love to put a deck chair in the centre of the living room, turn on a heater at full blast, light up the room with a dozen lamps with high wattage bulbs, put on my sunglasses and my bikini, get a sex on the beach cocktail, and settle into a steamy beach read. It’s the best we Irish can do. At least we don’t have to bother with the stickiness of sunblock!

  35. Dannyfiredragon Says:

    Big congrats Liz & Nichole!

  36. Stacy ~ Says:

Congrats to the winners! Happy New Year everyone :)

  37. Susan Says:

    Congrats Liz & Nichole!
