Pam Rosenthal

Pam Rosenthal When Pam Rosenthal was about to be born, her mom was wheeled into the delivery room reading the then-popular historical romantic scorcher FOREVER AMBER. Which gave Pam very little choice except to become a writer of romance and erotica, and to try to keep her writing balanced on the cusp of both genres.

Her most current erotic historical romance is THE SLIGHTEST PROVOCATION, a Regency about domestic espionage and erotic entanglement in post-Waterloo England (NAL Eclipse, Sept 2006), and she’s got another one due out from NAL in late 2007.

For Brava, Pam has written THE BOOKSELLER’S DAUGHER (Romantic Times Readers Choice for best erotic historical, 2004) and A HOUSE EAST OF REGENT STREET, a novella (which, according to the notorious Mrs. Giggles, “will send genteel readers into seizures”) in the Brava Collection STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT. Her debut erotic romance novel, ALMOST A GENTLEMAN, was an All About Romance Desert Isle Keeper.

As Molly Weatherfield, Pam his written two books of comic BDSM erotica, CARRIE’S STORY and its sequel SAFE WORD. A contemporary retelling of the French classic STORY OF O, CARRIE’S STORY recasts that book’s elegant submissive heroine as Carrie, a high-IQ motor-mouthed San Francisco bike messenger. In May 2006 Playboy.com listed CARRIE’S STORY as #12 of the “25 sexiest novels ever written” (in between LOLITA and FEAR OF FLYING) and SAFE WORD was excerpted in THE BEST AMERICAN EROTICA 2000.

And as both Pam and Molly, she’s written book reviews and features for salon.com and the San Francisco Chronicle.

Bookworm, film freak, unrepentant aging hippie and mom of a wonderful grown-up son, Pam has recently retired from 25 years as a computer programmer. A fulltime writer now, she’s amazed that she still doesn’t have any free time. She lives in San Francisco with her bookseller husband and a recovering feral cat.

CARRIE’S STORY and SAFE WORD are published by Cleis Press.

“With writing of this quality, it is no surprise that she has found a huge following in such a short time!”
