EC Sheedy lives on an island and writes to the sound of the ocean nudging the shore a few feet from her door. She avoids dust bunnies, cooking, and large parties at all costs and is happiest sitting by a winter fire with a good book, or better yet, a good friend.

She loves her husband because he humors her addiction to movies and tolerates her aversion to pots and pans, and she is dog-gone crazy about her hundred-pound Rhodesian Ridgeback, Roan, who loves every word she writes—or at least has the commonsense to look as though he does.

In her stories, EC likes her heroines smart, her heroes strong—and lots of anticipation. She gets both scared spitless and wild with delight when she sees someone reading her work.

And she salutes the readers of romance who, in a too often loveless world, continue to support books that acknowledge the glory in human bonding and the eternal power of love.
